HOBBY/THUNDER RULES
WHEELS AND TIRES
1. 12" Steel wheels
2. 12" tires MD 56 or American Racer 55
3. Dirt racing tires only
4. 1" lugs nut required
5. Wide 5 allowed but must use steel adapters or use safety hubs
BODY AND FRAME
1. 102 1/2 wheel base (1/2 variance)
2. Minimum weight 3200 lbs.: car and driver (Add 100 lbs. For slab side and/or tube
tail.)
3. May hull car completely
4. Must have firewall all the way around driver
5. Floor pan under driver must be at least 11 ga. steel
6. May run sub-frame connectors
7. If you run stock snout and tube tail you must use stock appearing nose and tail
piece
8. If you run tube tail and or slab sides add 100 lbs.
9. 5 point safety harness required
10. Seat must be fastened to roll cage
11. Roll cage must be 1 1/2 .09 thick wall
12. 3 door bars on drivers side required
13. 2 door bars on passenger side required
14. Must have full cage from front to back
FUEL SYSTEM
1. 750 C.F.M. Holly or Elderbrock dual line double pumper (max)
2. Aluminum intake (no dual carb intakes)
3. Manual Fuel pump only
4. Gas only (no alcohol)
ENGINE
1. Chevy 400 .060 wear .010 wear
Ford 351 .060 wear .010 wear
Chrysler 360 .060 wear .010 wear
2. Set back # 1 plug to center of the top ball joint
3. No stroked or destroked engines
4. Steel Rods only. After market rods (sportsman only)
5. Flat top pistons 2 or 4 eyebrow
6. Stock, Bow Tie or Dart heads (no aluminum)
7. 205, 1.60 valve size limit
8. No porting or polishing allowed on stock production heads: match gasket 1/2 in.

9. Any distributor, no mags
10. Collector type headers no turndowns
11. After market crank o.k. but no light weight or knife edged cranks
12. Must be stock stroke
TRANSMISSION AND REAR END
1. Stock transmission with all gears working
2. Any type clutch or flywheel
3. No direct drives
4. Any Ford or Chevy Rear-end Disc brakes o.k.
5. Rear-end may be locked
6. No Quick change
7. Must run blow-proof bell housing or scatter shield
SUSPENSION
1. Stock lower A-Frames
2. After market upper A-Frames, Jack screws, Racing Springs and Racing shocks
allowed
3. No coil over shocks
4. Stock type lower control arm on rear end.
5. No heim-end lower control arms
6. May run leader bar and pan - hard bar
7. No leaf and coil combinations
8. Min. 5" Coil Springs
9. 1 shock per wheel only
10. Wide 5 safety hubs (recommended)
11. After market front spindles (optional)
12. May run stock rack-in-pinion if it came from factory with it.
13. No coil overs allowed
NO RAIDOS OR MIRRORS ALLOWED.
